1. Scope

1.1 This test method is applicable to residential central vacuum cleaning systems intended for cleaning carpets either as a primary or a secondary function.

1.2 This test method applies only to embedded dirt removal from carpets, not the removal of surface litter and debris.

1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
