Significance and Use

Flaking (scaling) failure of paint films can occur in use. This test method provides a means of evaluating the degree of failure by comparing to pictorial standards.

 
1. Scope

1.1 This test method covers the evaluation of the degree of flaking (scaling) of exterior paints by comparison with photographic standards.

1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
